Ratcheting up medical siege at Camp Liberty; obstructing interpreters and nurses from accompany patients

Major Ahmed Khozair, an Iraqi officer affiliate to the Iraqi intelligence and Prime Ministry stationed in Camp Liberty, yesterday, 5 January 2014, prevented interpreters and nurses from accompany patients to Baghdad hospital, said Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran in a statement published today. Patients’ aides were to accompany them to do the translation and to assist the patients suffering from cancer in the hospital or in their medical appointments fixed from some time back. Hence, once again, medical appointments with specialist physicians for patients in serious conditions that had been arranged after a long time could not be held; again leading to further delay of these patients’ medical treatment.
Every day and for no reason, Ahmed Khozair and other agents of the Iraqi prime ministry obstruct movement of all or some of the patients and interpreters in the last minutes while residents have taken all necessary precautions and made all arrangements for transfer of the patients to hospital.
Ahmed Khozair is a criminal who has been directly involved in the September 1, 2013 massacre, mass execution and abductions and the April 8, 2011 massacre in Ashraf. He has also played the principal role in imposing an anti-human medical siege against PMOI. Prevention of free access to medical services and delays in treatment of patients has so far led to tormenting to death of 16 residents of Ashraf and Camp Liberty.
