Following on footsteps of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rouhani’s Justice Minister lashes out at UN Special Rapporteur on human rights violations in Iran

Mullah Mostafa PourMohammadi, the Justice Minister of Rouhani’s cabinet, in a fiercely worded attack on Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur on human rights violations in Iran, called him a “corrupt person” and said: “Ahmed Shaheed is not even a jurist and he has entered the arena as a political operative. From the outset, he has taken a stand against us; in essence we are against having a Rapporteur.” (IRGC news agency Fars - January 16).
Mullah Mostafa PourMohammadi, the principal member of the three-member “Death Committee” and one of the most senior officials responsible for the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners, added: “West’s main problem with us is the issue of human rights; nuclear and terrorism issues are secondary matters.”
The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN Secretary-General and other relevant UN bodies to strongly condemn clerical regime’s abusive aggression against the Special Rapporteur. Likewise, two months ago following a report by Dr. Shaheed, Rouhani’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson set aside all “moderation” and “engagement” mottos and called “the appointment of Special Rapporteur on human rights as an insult to the great Iranian nation (meaning the religious fascism ruling Iran)” and said, “We do not recognize him... Moreover, the prepared report has described the human rights situation in Iran with political motivates and is utterly unfair.”
Regime’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson flagrantly said “Terrorist and violence-inclined groups whose hands are tainted with blood of the innocent are generally the sources for this report and therefore the said report lacks any legal credibility”. Meanwhile, despite repeated requests by the international community, the clerical regime has not allowed Mr. Ahmed Shaheed and UN Thematic Rapporteurs on human rights into Iran.
