Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corp commander, Mohammad-Ali Jaffari said: We consider politics to be the most important issue that threats the Islamic Revolution, and the IRGCcannot ignore this fact. Referring to some criticism of IRGC trying to influence the politics, he said: We ignore these criticisms and do what we want. We can't default from this, because if we do, we would be at the bottom of the hill.
Insisting on irrefutable support for the Syrian dictator, Jaffari said: we would do everything needed to save Syria… We have previously announced that we have sent experts to Syria to share our experience and to teach them tactics and we would do it openly, because we are officially and legally support the Syrian government
